Anti-Reflection Coating is a type of coating which can greatly reduce reflection when a light through the surface of optical devices. It often called the AR-Coating. This improves the efficiency of the system since less light is lost. In complex systems, the reduction in reflections also improves the contrast of the image by elimination of stray light. The most common coating we can provide includes Single Layer MgF2 Anti-reflection Coating, Multi-Layer Sharp “V” Anti-reflection coating, Multilayer Broadband Anti-reflection Coating, Dual-Wavelength Anti-reflection coating. We also can provide Anti-Reflection according to customer request in special design.
The simplest interference Anti-reflection Coating consists of a single quarter-wave layer of transparent material whose refractive index is the quart root of the substrate’s refractive index. Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2) is the most widely used material for Anti-reflection coating. Sometimes, in order to further reduce the reflectivity; multilayer sharo”v” Anti-reflection coating is wildly coated on the surface of optical devices. By using alternating layers of a low-index material like silica and a higher-index material it is possible to obtain reflectivity as low as 0.1% at a single wavelength. Coatings that give very low reflectivity over a broad band can also be made, although these are complex and relatively expensive. Optical coatings can also be made with special characteristics, such as near-zero reflectance at multiple wavelengths or optimum performance at angles of incidence other than 0°
